Rectangular Units
Midwestern’s MEV and Multi-Vib vibrating screens are
designed with a unique parallel-arc configuration of its decks that delivers
various-specification products quickly and efficiently.
Starting at the feed end of the units, an arc is formed by
a series of flat angled surfaces between the screen panel supports. The first
flat surface is slightly angled which retains the material momentarily at the
feed end. It allows the under-size to pass rapidly through the panel openings
onto the decks below where smaller openings retain or pass on a portion of the
material. As the retained material moves over each deck, the angle increases,
accelerating the particles to the discharge chute.
The MEV and Multi-Vib design incorporates end tensioning
at the back (feed end) of the unit that simplifies changing screen panels with
less time at a much lower cost. End tensioning permits the use of square-opening
and harp-type screens. A spring-loaded draw bar accurately maintains the tension.
All of the decks are easily accessible and can be changed in a few minutes,
not “hours” like conventional screens.
Material Distributor
Material distributors are available for wet and dry applications
to ensure even distribution over the width of the screens. The material distributor
fits both the Multi-Vib and MEV plus can be retrofitted to existing units. Optional
heating is available on the material distributor.
