MEV

Midwestern MEV vibrating screens are designed with a unique parallel-arc configuration of its screen decks that delivers various-specification products quickly and efficiently.
Starting at the feed end of the MEV unit, an arc is formed by a series of flat angled surfaces between the screen panel supports. The first flat surface is slightly angled which retains the material momentarily at the feed end. It allows the under-size to pass rapidly through the panel openings onto the decks below where smaller openings retain or pass on a portion of the material. As the retained material moves over each deck, the angle increases, accelerating the particles to the discharge chute. Screening is achieved by the elliptical motion of the unit.

Full Line of MEV Vibrating Screens
To fit the needs of your installation, Midwestern offers a full line of MEV vibrating screens. MEV models for dry screening or washing applications include 3’ x 5’, 4’ x 8’ and 5’ x 10’ units with one through five decks. Models for dewatering screening applications include 3’ x 5', 4’ x 8’ and 5’ x 10’. Both types of screens are available with either carbon or stainless steel construction.

Simplified Screen-panel Tensioning
The MEV design incorporates end tensioning at the back (feed end) of the unit that simplifies changing screen panels with less time at a much lower cost.
End tensioning permits the use of square-opening and harp-type screens. The tension is accurately maintained by a spring-loaded draw bar.

Special MEV Features
• Change a screen deck in approximately 10 minutes

• Uses standard off-the-shelf motors and operates with versatile two-bearing drive system
• Rugged, construction standard on all models, yet weighs less than conventional screens
Optional Equipment
• Cable suspension
• Spray bars for washing application
• Automatic tension release system
• Dust-tight enclosed units for dry screening
• Ball trays

QUICK NOTE:

The MEV design incorporates rear-screen (end) tensioning to simplify and lower the cost of changing screen panels.

The decks are easily accessible and tensioned only at the feed end. A screen deck can be changed in a few minutes, not “hours” like conventional screens.
